Where has the time gone?
Time, Time, Time, What about our time? Job talks about how time flies. In Job 7:6 says," My days are
swifter than a weavers shuttle, and are spent with out hope."
I know we say that we are so busy, or, that we don't have time. But we can make time for those things that we think are important. How important are the things that take up our time? Not important. Time flees so fast, we need to enjoy every moment that has been given us. Because we do know what another day will hold. Job says "are days are swifter than a post: they flee away." When I think about the times in my life that have gone so quickly. I wish that I would have taken each moment a little slower and enjoyed the time. Let us cherish each moment, Because once it is gone it is gone.
Let us use are time wisely.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-18668050153862157662010-08-27T19:55:00.000-07:002010-08-27T20:32:33.980-07:00The Bible is as a two edged sword.

It convicts and it cleanses,
it reveals and it remedies,
it searches and it sanctifies
it probes and it purifies,
it warnes and it washes.

It is his word that we hid deep in our hearts, that gives us the power fight in the battle. It was a blessed time of worship and praising our Lord.
We also had a great time of fellowship over breakfast with our family and friends there.

I can't imagine not worshiping the Lord for all that he has done for us on the cross. It amazes me how this world has grown so cold in the things of God. Where is our worship and praise for him.

Happy Easter! Hallelujah!.. Oh how we like to try to fool folks on April 1st. My husband tryed to fool me this morning. He said "Sweetheart how about trading our car in for a new one?" I said, "really?" Yes, they are running a special 0% on everything. I looked at him. He said, "April Fools..." It is always interesting to see what people like to fool you on. I had a friend a few years ago who's anniversary is on April Fools day. He was such a rascal that he gave her a beautiful card, and in this card, was a check for $1000.00 . She looked at it and said, "Honey! Really?" Then he gave her a kiss and took the check out of her hand tore it up and said April fools..
I probably would have choked him. Fortunately, she is a great sport and just laughed about it.
I am glad that the Lord does not pull jokes on us. He loves us unconditionalyand eternally based upon His great grace through the Lord Jesus Christ. His promise are always trustworthy and faithful.

Lord bless you and have a great resurrection Sunday.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-68363725203720080162010-03-23T20:50:00.000-07:002010-03-25T16:53:41.937-07:00Not in My StrengthThen said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for
themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answered by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. I Kings 18:22-24

Elijah saw that the people could not make up their minds in whom to serve, so he proposed a test to prove which "god" was more powerful. The God that answered by fire would be worshipped as the true God.

The prophets of Baal began their chanting and praying to their god. But nothing had happened.

Then Elijah cried out to his God, "And...Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel.." I kings 18:36. Those on the mountain heard his sincere prayer and saw the fire come down from Heaven. The reason that Elijah prevailed in this test was not because of his skill or effort, but because of the mighty hand of God.

None of us can make it on our own! The christian life lived in our own strength is destined to be a failure.
Only through the strength of our God is our victorious Christian life possible. In the book of Philippians this verse comes to my mind. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me".

Have you ever been frustrated trying to live your Christian life in your own strength? Don't go through another day in your own strength, but look to God for help.

I gave this devotion at our Ladies meeting.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-70611761079186509562010-03-11T19:46:00.000-08:002010-03-11T20:43:53.575-08:00One day I decided that I was going to quit...I wanted to quit my job, my relationships, my spirituality. I wanted to quit my life..So I went for a walk to have one last talk with God.

God, I said.."Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answere surprised me..."Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?

Yes, I replied.

When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave
them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. It's brilliant green covered the ground. Yet nothing came
from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful..And again, nothing came from the bamboo
seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

He said. 'In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth
year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not give up on it.

He said. 'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly
small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the last five years growning roots.
Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a
challenge it could not handle.'

He said to me. Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually
been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. So don't compare yourself
to others.'

He said. 'The bamboo had a different purpose then the fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful.'

Your time will come, God said to me. 'You will survive, too

I came back from my walk and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God
will never give up on you..........

Never regret a day in your life.
Good days give you Happiness.
Bad days give you Experiences
Both are essential to life. Keep going...Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-88470343648914787232010-03-02T15:04:00.000-08:002010-03-02T16:29:14.683-08:00Steanboat ArabiaThis is a great cite. We had a missionary family at our church this weekend. She was talking about The Vicksburg battlefield and I told her that it was a great experience when we went. I enjoyed the history on the Battle between the North and South and the Steamboat Ciaro. How they recovered it and restored it artifacts in it. Then she shared with me about the steamboats that traveled on the Misouri River in the 1800's. One of them was called the Arabia. It was used to take supplies up and down the Misouri river to the trading posts. One night as it was on it's way down river, it hit a large tree under the water, it sank. All aboard survived.

But after many years of the river moving and changing it's route. They found the Arabia in the middle of a corn field. This family desired to dig for it to salvage it's history. Today it is a large Museum in Kansas city, Misouri. I hope that you all will enjoy viewing this cite. They called it " a Taste of France" to have a little different flair for valentines day. It was decorated like a french cafe. There was a table full of flowers for the french flower shoppe and another corner full of Art that our teens drew, we called that our Art Galleria.
In another corner was a Bistro and a eight foot tall Eiffel Tower that we took pictures in front of. It was a beautiful scene.
Then the youth pastors wife did all the cooking and planning it was really good. The menu was Chicken Cordon Bleu and Roasted potatoes with herbs and green beans with a French flair. Also severed was fresh French bread. The desserts were Chocolate cake and Cheesecake. I know that is not french, but the kids wanted that.
The youth dressed up in black and white attire. They served us with the manners of classic waiters We had a great time of fellowship.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-29434631237371513942010-01-27T06:46:00.000-08:002010-01-27T07:21:32.788-08:00A day at the HospitalYesterday was and interesting day. It started out as a normal Tuesday morning with our devotions and breakfast. Then we both got ready for the things that we had to do. My husband had and appointment at 10 am. at the church with the security system company. To see what it would cost to have our system upgraded. When I got a phone call to come to the church. He said that he was in severe pain and needed me to bring him some medicine for his back. But when I got there he was in bad shape with the pain. So, needless to say, that it was not his back after all, but rather it was a kidney stone. He was in such pain. He tryed to wait it out, but when he started throwing up, we knew that it was time to go to the emergency room. I got him at the ER and things got worse. So they got him a room and the nurse started and IV with fluids and pain meds. They also gave him a shot to get things going faster. After about three hours he started feeling a little better. Then they took a CAT scan and found a stone that was 2 milometers. It had already started to move down. I guess with all that fluid that they were giving him, helped him to go. We still have not seen the stone. But we are so thankful that we able to come home around 6 pm last night. He is in no pain for now. I can't understand how these things can be so painful.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-85048837305984523832010-01-14T10:27:00.000-08:002010-01-14T11:12:58.678-08:00Wow, I didn't realize that I have not posted anything for a long time. It had been a busy time from Thanksgiving to the end of the year. We had many things going on. A trip to Ohio to see the Family for Thanksgiving. Then down to Geogia to visit my oldest daughter for a week. We had a blessed time. Then we brought two of the Grandchildren home with us for 3 weeks until Christmas. It was exciting at our house. It is interesting how to eight year olds can keep you busy. But I have enjoyed every moment of our time together.

But now it is a New year with New Beginings and I am anxious to see what the Lord will have for us this year. We are scheduleing our yearly events on the calender for this new year. God is so amasing, and so great. We have a great God, Glory to his name.. I just want to be used of him this year. I want to see souls saved, and our church grow for his glory. Praise his Holy name!
Joyfully HisMarshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-63882754568285875212009-11-18T13:56:00.000-08:002009-12-01T13:30:06.936-08:00Ladies Fall Felowship Meeting

Well, How do I start. The Lord was Good, we had a blessed day in the Lord. Our church had hosted a Ladies one day retreat on Sat Nov. 14, 2009. We had planned it for 3 months. The Ladies where so great to get involved in the planning. I had someone working on the invitations, and someone organizing the music. Also I had a Lady organize the food and many helping with decorations, favors and gifts. It was such a blessing to see everyone get involved.
Then Sat came and the Lord blessed again. We had over a hundred ladies there. I also had some special speakers, Mrs Provi Martin, a missionary from Honduras, and Ann Moore, missionary to Nicaragua. Also a Young Lady from our own Church. The Theme was on "Gleaning Blessing in the Harvest of the Lord". They did a great job on their messages. It started from the gleanings of blessings in the book of Ruth. To the blessings in their lives, even threw the trails that we go through daily. It seemed that we all went away being blessed. It was such a God honoring Day. Praise His Name. I'm looking forward to next year.

Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-16400644973612615202009-10-13T10:52:00.000-07:002009-10-13T11:20:07.442-07:00FreindshipGod has been good to give me friends in my life of ministry to encourage me. I had just said good-bye to a very special and dear friend. God used her in my life. She encourage me in the area of witnessing. Some times we let fear hinder us in that area, because we do not like to have someone upset with us. I've learned that with Christs love nothing is to impossible. I pray that God uses her and her family in there new station of life.
She is a sweet young lady. Who brought great joy to my life. I appreciated her and her walk with the Lord. Also her wiliness to serve, and her edifying spirit. When ever I needed anything done she was their. When ever I was down their would be a phone call, or a note that would encourage me. Yes, I do miss her very much. God puts those rare people in our lives for a time as this. Ok, now what do I do with them. I asked. I am from the North I don't know what to do with them. So I decided to cook them. So I called a Good friend of mine, her name is Toni, she walked me through the whole processes. I thank God for her and her patientce with me.
First there was some things that you have to do to the beans. You do not just put them in water. You have to prepare them. You have to put them on the counter and get rid of all the imperfections and rocks. Then you rinse them with water. Then put them in a large pan covering them with water and boil them for 1 hour on med heat. Do not let them boil dry. After they have boiled an hour, then you add your flavoring and salt, Then finish cooking them for 3 more hours. Remove from heat and serve. But I let them cool a little an mashed them. So that I could make bean burritos. That is one of my husbands favorite Mexican dishes.
Well we have been in the South for 10 years and this is my first attempt to make beans and burritos. They turned out very well.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-48216209963402157682009-08-22T15:41:00.000-07:002009-08-22T16:14:52.298-07:00Ladies Retreat at Royal CIt was really a blessing to be able to go. There were 3 of us. It was a great time in the Lord.
We had a precious time of fellowship with one another. The Theme of the retreat was
"Building your life around Jesus". The messages were on how to be better prepared as
Christian Ladies. And to build our life around Jesus we are going to have to obey Gods
Word. We played games, had a Birthday Party for the Speaker, and lots of food, fun, and
fellowship. Our hearts were blessed and encouraged. I hope that next year there will be
more Ladies to go. The Camp's name
is "ROYAL C RANCH". It is located in Eufaula, Ok. They also offer many weeks of camp though out the summer. They have Retreat's for men and women, and Camp Meetings with many special speakers. There is always alot of great preaching going on there.
The kids seemed to have a great time. Some of our guys had never experienced riding horses or shooting a bow and arrows. But just being away from the worlds influences and being surrounded by God's word and God's people was a blessing for them. I pray that those that made dicission will hold to them for the rest of there lives. I thank God for those precious moments.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4786517654584738565.post-32503216122954091052009-07-27T20:27:00.000-07:002009-08-11T14:31:40.165-07:00Bessie's Tea Party

The other day I was invited to a Tea Party given by one of our Senior Citizens from
our church. We had a blessed day. Pastor had a great message on Abraham and the death of Sarah. It is found in Genesis 23:1-20
After the preaching and the invitation our Jr. Church children came into the sanctuary with a big poster card with all the signatures of the children. Also, every one of the children gave me a Red Rose. It was such a blessing. I could not hold back my tears. God uses these little children in special ways. I love them all.
Then in the evening after services they had cake and ice cream. It was a great time of fellowship. We are so blessed to have a church like Victory Baptist. Pastor and love them all.Marshahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13501176690720497317noreply@blogger.com1
