23 rd Psalm

The 23 rd Psalm

Here is a beautiful explanation

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want -- thats' relationship!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures -- that's rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters -- that's refreshment!

He restoreth my soul -- that's healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness -- that's guidence!

For his name sake -- thats purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death -- that's testing!

I will fear no evil -- that's protection!

For thou art with me -- that's faithfulness

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me -- that's discipline

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies -- that's hope

Thou anointest my head with oil -- that's consecration!

My cup runneth over -- that's abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life -- that's blessing

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord -- that's secruity!

Forever -- that's eternity!

Take Time

Take time to think;
It is a source of power.

Take time to read;
It is the foundation of wisdom.

Take time to play;
It is the secret of staying young.

Take time to be quiet;
It is an opportunity to seek God.

Take time to be aware;
It is the opportunity to help others.

Take time to love and be loved;
It is God's greatest gift.

Take time to laugh;
It is the music of the soul.

Take time to be friendly;
It is the road to happiness.

Take time to dream;
It is what the future is made of.

Take time to Pray;
It is the greatest power on earth.

Time

Wow, It has been over 3 months since I have shared anything on my Blog. Where has the time gone?
Time, Time, Time, What about our time? Job talks about how time flies. In Job 7:6 says," My days are
swifter than a weavers shuttle, and are spent with out hope."
I know we say that we are so busy, or, that we don't have time. But we can make time for those things that we think are important. How important are the things that take up our time? Not important. Time flees so fast, we need to enjoy every moment that has been given us. Because we do know what another day will hold. Job says "are days are swifter than a post: they flee away." When I think about the times in my life that have gone so quickly. I wish that I would have taken each moment a little slower and enjoyed the time. Let us cherish each moment, Because once it is gone it is gone.
Let us use are time wisely.

The Bible is as a two edged sword.

It convicts and it cleanses,
it reveals and it remedies,
it searches and it sanctifies
it probes and it purifies,
it warnes and it washes.

It is his word that we hid deep in our hearts, that gives us the power fight in the battle. His two-edged sword will enable us to defeat the enemy. That is why we put on the whole armour of God, that we maybe able to stand in these evil days. Help us to be strong in the Lord.

Lord help, I have heard and seen to many of your servants being defeated. Churches and Pastors resigning and stepping out of the ministry. People are harding their hearts as The wicked one is trying to prevail. Please Lord we need a renewing of your Holy Spirit in these days. Lord help us to seek your face as we find strength in your Word.

The Gosple according to you

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2 Corinthians 3:2

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
Are read by more than a few,
But the one that is most read and commented on
Is the gospel according to you.

You are writing a gospel, a chapter each day
By the things that you do and the words that you say,
Men read what you write, whether faithless or true,
Say, what is the gospel according to you?

Do men read His truth and His love in your life?
Or has yours been too full of malice and strife?
Does your life speak of evil, or does it ring true?
Say, what is the gospel according to you?

---Author Unknown

Our testimony is seen by others every day. It's who you are, what you do,
and why you exist. Whether you realize it or not, people are judging God
and Christianity based on you. So how can you live for God even when it is not
easy?

When you are truly saved, everyone should see it. People should recognize
the difference in you and should realize you are not the same.
You should be different in you actions, countenance, and interests, and
others should see God's hand upon your life.

Can others see a difference between the way you were before you were saved
and the way you are now? God called you out from the world so that you
could be a light to the world. Share His Gospel with others through your
testimony today!

Taken from "A daily Word"

Yes, we need to be that kind of testimony. But yet we fall short all the time.
If it was not for His grace were would we be

Happy Easter

Happy Easter- He has risen.

We had a sunrise service this morning at our church. It was a blessed time of worship and praising our Lord.
We also had a great time of fellowship over breakfast with our family and friends there.

I can't imagine not worshiping the Lord for all that he has done for us on the cross. It amazes me how this world has grown so cold in the things of God. Where is our worship and praise for him.

Happy Easter! Hallelujah!.. What a blessed day when my Lord Jesus Christ died on that old rugged cross for my sin, So that I might have eternal life. Oh what a glorious day.

April Fools Day

April fools! Oh how we like to try to fool folks on April 1st. My husband tryed to fool me this morning. He said "Sweetheart how about trading our car in for a new one?" I said, "really?" Yes, they are running a special 0% on everything. I looked at him. He said, "April Fools..." It is always interesting to see what people like to fool you on. I had a friend a few years ago who's anniversary is on April Fools day. He was such a rascal that he gave her a beautiful card, and in this card, was a check for $1000.00 . She looked at it and said, "Honey! Really?" Then he gave her a kiss and took the check out of her hand tore it up and said April fools..
I probably would have choked him. Fortunately, she is a great sport and just laughed about it.
I am glad that the Lord does not pull jokes on us. He loves us unconditionalyand eternally based upon His great grace through the Lord Jesus Christ. His promise are always trustworthy and faithful.

Lord bless you and have a great resurrection Sunday.

Not in My Strength

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for
themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answered by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. I Kings 18:22-24

Elijah saw that the people could not make up their minds in whom to serve, so he proposed a test to prove which "god" was more powerful. The God that answered by fire would be worshipped as the true God.

The prophets of Baal began their chanting and praying to their god. But nothing had happened.

Then Elijah cried out to his God, "And...Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel.." I kings 18:36. Those on the mountain heard his sincere prayer and saw the fire come down from Heaven. The reason that Elijah prevailed in this test was not because of his skill or effort, but because of the mighty hand of God.

None of us can make it on our own! The christian life lived in our own strength is destined to be a failure.
Only through the strength of our God is our victorious Christian life possible. In the book of Philippians this verse comes to my mind. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me".

Have you ever been frustrated trying to live your Christian life in your own strength? Don't go through another day in your own strength, but look to God for help.

I gave this devotion at our Ladies meeting.

One day I decided that I was going to quit...I wanted to quit my job, my relationships, my spirituality. I wanted to quit my life..So I went for a walk to have one last talk with God.

God, I said.."Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answere surprised me..."Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?

Yes, I replied.

When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave
them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. It's brilliant green covered the ground. Yet nothing came
from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful..And again, nothing came from the bamboo
seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

He said. 'In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth
year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not give up on it.

He said. 'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly
small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the last five years growning roots.
Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a
challenge it could not handle.'

He said to me. Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually
been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. So don't compare yourself
to others.'

He said. 'The bamboo had a different purpose then the fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful.'

Your time will come, God said to me. 'You will survive, too

I came back from my walk and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God
will never give up on you..........

Never regret a day in your life.
Good days give you Happiness.
Bad days give you Experiences
Both are essential to life. Keep going...

Steanboat Arabia

This is a great cite. We had a missionary family at our church this weekend. She was talking about The Vicksburg battlefield and I told her that it was a great experience when we went. I enjoyed the history on the Battle between the North and South and the Steamboat Ciaro. How they recovered it and restored it artifacts in it. Then she shared with me about the steamboats that traveled on the Misouri River in the 1800's. One of them was called the Arabia. It was used to take supplies up and down the Misouri river to the trading posts. One night as it was on it's way down river, it hit a large tree under the water, it sank. All aboard survived.

But after many years of the river moving and changing it's route. They found the Arabia in the middle of a corn field. This family desired to dig for it to salvage it's history. Today it is a large Museum in Kansas city, Misouri. I hope that you all will enjoy viewing this cite. Go to www Steamboat Arabia.com or

A Taste of France

The youth of our church put on a banquet for Valentines day. They called it " a Taste of France" to have a little different flair for valentines day. It was decorated like a french cafe. There was a table full of flowers for the french flower shoppe and another corner full of Art that our teens drew, we called that our Art Galleria.
In another corner was a Bistro and a eight foot tall Eiffel Tower that we took pictures in front of. It was a beautiful scene.
Then the youth pastors wife did all the cooking and planning it was really good. The menu was Chicken Cordon Bleu and Roasted potatoes with herbs and green beans with a French flair. Also severed was fresh French bread. The desserts were Chocolate cake and Cheesecake. I know that is not french, but the kids wanted that.
The youth dressed up in black and white attire. They served us with the manners of classic waiters We had a great time of fellowship.

A day at the Hospital

Yesterday was and interesting day. It started out as a normal Tuesday morning with our devotions and breakfast. Then we both got ready for the things that we had to do. My husband had and appointment at 10 am. at the church with the security system company. To see what it would cost to have our system upgraded. When I got a phone call to come to the church. He said that he was in severe pain and needed me to bring him some medicine for his back. But when I got there he was in bad shape with the pain. So, needless to say, that it was not his back after all, but rather it was a kidney stone. He was in such pain. He tryed to wait it out, but when he started throwing up, we knew that it was time to go to the emergency room. I got him at the ER and things got worse. So they got him a room and the nurse started and IV with fluids and pain meds. They also gave him a shot to get things going faster. After about three hours he started feeling a little better. Then they took a CAT scan and found a stone that was 2 milometers. It had already started to move down. I guess with all that fluid that they were giving him, helped him to go. We still have not seen the stone. But we are so thankful that we able to come home around 6 pm last night. He is in no pain for now. I can't understand how these things can be so painful.

Wow, I didn't realize that I have not posted anything for a long time. It had been a busy time from Thanksgiving to the end of the year. We had many things going on. A trip to Ohio to see the Family for Thanksgiving. Then down to Geogia to visit my oldest daughter for a week. We had a blessed time. Then we brought two of the Grandchildren home with us for 3 weeks until Christmas. It was exciting at our house. It is interesting how to eight year olds can keep you busy. But I have enjoyed every moment of our time together.

But now it is a New year with New Beginings and I am anxious to see what the Lord will have for us this year. We are scheduleing our yearly events on the calender for this new year. God is so amasing, and so great. We have a great God, Glory to his name.. I just want to be used of him this year. I want to see souls saved, and our church grow for his glory. Praise his Holy name!
Joyfully His
