Ladies Fall Felowship Meeting

Well, How do I start. The Lord was Good, we had a blessed day in the Lord. Our church had hosted a Ladies one day retreat on Sat Nov. 14, 2009. We had planned it for 3 months. The Ladies where so great to get involved in the planning. I had someone working on the invitations, and someone organizing the music. Also I had a Lady organize the food and many helping with decorations, favors and gifts. It was such a blessing to see everyone get involved.
Then Sat came and the Lord blessed again. We had over a hundred ladies there. I also had some special speakers, Mrs Provi Martin, a missionary from Honduras, and Ann Moore, missionary to Nicaragua. Also a Young Lady from our own Church. The Theme was on "Gleaning Blessing in the Harvest of the Lord". They did a great job on their messages. It started from the gleanings of blessings in the book of Ruth. To the blessings in their lives, even threw the trails that we go through daily. It seemed that we all went away being blessed. It was such a God honoring Day. Praise His Name. I'm looking forward to next year.

Freindship

God has been good to give me friends in my life of ministry to encourage me. I had just said good-bye to a very special and dear friend. God used her in my life. She encourage me in the area of witnessing. Some times we let fear hinder us in that area, because we do not like to have someone upset with us. I've learned that with Christs love nothing is to impossible. I pray that God uses her and her family in there new station of life.
She is a sweet young lady. Who brought great joy to my life. I appreciated her and her walk with the Lord. Also her wiliness to serve, and her edifying spirit. When ever I needed anything done she was their. When ever I was down their would be a phone call, or a note that would encourage me. Yes, I do miss her very much. God puts those rare people in our lives for a time as this. I pray God's richest blessings on her life

Ladies Retreat at Royal C Ranch

I had wrote about a ladies retreat we had gone to but wasn't able to get the pictures on. A little late but here's the pictures.

The Littlest Skyscraper

The other day a friend of mine took me to see this little wonder. It was the littlest Sky Scraper in the world. The behind the scenes story is that the builder built it to scale in inches instead of feet and then beat feet out of town.
It is only one room wide, this building is 10 feet by 16 feet in plan and is 40 feet tall.
It was built as a stock swindle that raised $200,000, the blueprints were presented in inches instead of feet to investors.

Beans, Beans, Beans

The other day some one gave me a bag of Pinto beans. Ok, now what do I do with them. I asked. I am from the North I don't know what to do with them. So I decided to cook them. So I called a Good friend of mine, her name is Toni, she walked me through the whole processes. I thank God for her and her patientce with me.
First there was some things that you have to do to the beans. You do not just put them in water. You have to prepare them. You have to put them on the counter and get rid of all the imperfections and rocks. Then you rinse them with water. Then put them in a large pan covering them with water and boil them for 1 hour on med heat. Do not let them boil dry. After they have boiled an hour, then you add your flavoring and salt, Then finish cooking them for 3 more hours. Remove from heat and serve. But I let them cool a little an mashed them. So that I could make bean burritos. That is one of my husbands favorite Mexican dishes.
Well we have been in the South for 10 years and this is my first attempt to make beans and burritos. They turned out very well.

Ladies Retreat at Royal C

It was really a blessing to be able to go. There were 3 of us. It was a great time in the Lord.
We had a precious time of fellowship with one another. The Theme of the retreat was
"Building your life around Jesus". The messages were on how to be better prepared as
Christian Ladies. And to build our life around Jesus we are going to have to obey Gods
Word. We played games, had a Birthday Party for the Speaker, and lots of food, fun, and
fellowship. Our hearts were blessed and encouraged. I hope that next year there will be
more Ladies to go. It will be a blessing!
Joyfully Yours

I was so blessed to spend a day at Youth Camp with our church kids. The Camp's name
is "ROYAL C RANCH". It is located in Eufaula, Ok. They also offer many weeks of camp though out the summer. They have Retreat's for men and women, and Camp Meetings with many special speakers. There is always alot of great preaching going on there.
The kids seemed to have a great time. Some of our guys had never experienced riding horses or shooting a bow and arrows. But just being away from the worlds influences and being surrounded by God's word and God's people was a blessing for them. I pray that those that made dicission will hold to them for the rest of there lives. I thank God for those precious moments.

Our Second Anniversary

Sunday July 12th was our second anniversity here at Victory Baptist Church. We had a blessed day. Pastor had a great message on Abraham and the death of Sarah. It is found in Genesis 23:1-20
After the preaching and the invitation our Jr. Church children came into the sanctuary with a big poster card with all the signatures of the children. Also, every one of the children gave me a Red Rose. It was such a blessing. I could not hold back my tears. God uses these little children in special ways. I love them all.
Then in the evening after services they had cake and ice cream. It was a great time of fellowship. We are so blessed to have a church like Victory Baptist. Pastor and love them all.

A Day at the Lake

We had and invitation to go to Nacona Lake, Tx. Our friends parents have a lake house on the lake. It is a beautiful place, so relaxing. When we arrived we had a late breakfast which included Quiche, fruit salad, and a coffee cake. With a great selection of juices and coffee. After that we walked down to the lake and rode on the pontoon boat. It was about 95 degrees with a great breeze off the lake. When we came in from the ride. Mike set up the sail boat and we went sailing. It was so fantastic. It is really and art on controling that vessel. Knowing your wind currents, watching the waves, having control of the sails. It is very educational.
After a full day on the water we went up to the lake house and prepared dinner.
We had porkloin fahitas, rice ,red beansand dessert. Then later in the evening we took another ride on the pontoon boat. The moon was reflecting beautifully on the water. It was so relaxing. It was a great day with friends.

Old Fashioned Sunday

This past Sunday was our "Old Fashioned Sunday" Service. It was a special day full of fun and preaching. The children had a hayride and games and a corn-on-the cob contest. We also had a dinner on the grounds with a Texas style brisket and all the fixings. The services had an old fashioned flair with old time preaching and old time music . Later in the afternoon we had a costume competition and a chili cookoff, and a apple pie contest. Everyone did a fantastic job.

Servants of the Lord

Last Month was a blessing. We were able to have two missionary familes visit our Church.
The first Missionary family has been ministering in Cuba. It is so interesting, how they
have to be so very careful of what they do and what they preach. Always looking out because of the danger that is ever present. But they do have a few national preachers there to carry on the work of the gospel. Please pray for this Family "The Roes" and there willness to go and teach others about Jesus Christ in a Communist country.

The other Missionary Family was Bro Aya who is from Coloumbia. They need your prayers
and support for the work their in Columbia. Also it is another place of danger and much violance. They just lost and elderly couple from there church. They where found beaten to death by a gang. Just because of there stand for Christ. Please pray for these soldiers of
the cross. God bless those who would serve Him faithfully.

A lot of Love

We had a beautiful Wedding today for Mandy and Todd. It was so full of Gods love. This couple is truely in love with one another. They just want to honor the Lord in their lives, and put Him in the center of their relationship with one another.
The Church was decorated in such away that it looked like a peaceful garden. With the archway covered in lavendar and white wisteria. The isles were arrrayed with vases of blue and purple Hydrangas and green ivy and lace. It was beautiful.. Everything want off so smoothly, from the giving of the Bride to the introduction of this New Couple. Praise the Lord!
"And he will love thee, and bless thee........Deuteronmy 7:13
We thank the Lord for all his blessed Promises. Sometimes the most simple things in life are the most blessed.
I am so Thankful for all the the help and work that made this a special day for this young couple.

Discipleship Conference

It has been a very busy month. God has been working in and through our Church. We had a Discipleship Conference with Dr. Pat Briney from Fayetteville, Ark. and Bro. Travis Jones from Metropolitan Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Tx. It was a great blessing to our church. It was also full of material that would help us in disciplining others. The theme was Love God first, and then Love others as Christ has loved. That is one of the great commandments. We have all of the messages on CD's. Plus all of there notes on the subject of Discipleship. If you are interested in any of the material. Please call, or write
Victory Baptist Church

Now it is time to put it to work and share what we have learned with someone else. Teaching them what God has tought us. That we may see souls saved for His glory.

Thoughts for Today

Four things you can't recover

The stone..........after the throw. The word..........after it's said.

The occasion......after it's missed. The time...........after it's gone.

Knock, Knock, I knocked at heaven's door this morning.
God ask me........'My child what can I do for you?
And I said,...... 'Father, please protect and bless my friends
reading this message:
God smiled and answered.........'Request granted.'

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet
is fighting some kind of battle.......

But Grow in Grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. 2 Peter 3:18

The History of APRONS
I don't think our kids know what an apron is.
The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath, because she only had a few, it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and they used less material, but along with that, it served as a pot holder for removing hot pans from the oven.
It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.
From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids.
And when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.

Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.
Send this to those who would know, and love, the story about Grandma's aprons. Or it can be a good history lesson for those that have no idea how the apron played a part in our lives.
REMEMBER:
Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to 'cool'. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to 'thaw'.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron. I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron.
Living By The Faith Journal

This is a great site.

I have had the previledge to know this young Lady and her Family. They were part of our Church that my husband and I ministred in, in Bowie Tx. They were a blessing to us.
They where a great asset to the work there. But God had other plans for there family.
He had called them to Columbia. But that is not the end of the story. They could not enter
Columbia right now. Because they needed to be sponcered from the inside of the country.
So that they can work with the Pastor there. His name is Bro. Aya, he ia a national.
So for now God is using them in a work in Panama. They are helping with the distibution of
Christian School Materials and Tract Literature. Wow, what an opportunity to be used of
the Lord. Also to see souls won for the Him. I thank God for having known this blessed Family.
So please pray for them.

God's Amazing Beauty

Mass Migration of Stingrays
Looking like giant leaves floating in the sea, thousands of Golden Rays are seen here gathering off the coast of Mexico . The spectacular scene was captured as the magnificent creatures made one of their biannual mass migrations to more agreeable waters.
Gliding silently beneath the waves, they turned vast areas of blue water to gold off the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula .

It is a beautiful day. "This is the day that the Lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad." I was just sitting here thinking on how blessed that I am. God has given me a great Church. Of which my Husband is the Pastor. The congregation has such a servant's heart in their attendance and their willingness to labor for the Lord.

It was a great year in 2008. The ladies able to get so many things accomplished. Rooms at the church were painted. The Nursery was updated. But most important God has blessed us with new members and Souls for Him.
I want to Thank Him and praise Him for the oppotunity to minister here at Victory Baptist church. May we server together until he comes. Thank you for coming to my Joyous Journey.
Until He Comes, Marsha
